Exclusive Video: the planned destruction of Antwerp, Belgium

Watch how bent politicians are planning the factual destruction of large populated areas of Antwerp city. How would you react?

[Update: Antwerp VLD politician Ludo V.C. (in spite of a strong YES vote by his party) and Antwerp Mayor Patrick J. decided to follow their personal conscience and will vote NO in the upcoming referendum regarding this planned killer project. I admire and applaud their honest concern for the wellbeing of their fellow Antwerp citizens. Let's all bury this insane destruction of Antwerp-city under an avalanche of NO votes October 18. Update 18 Oct 2009: during a city referendum today 60% of Antwerp voters rejected the "Lange Wapper" overpass/bridge (the threshold being 50%). What happens next will be decided by the government in Brussels]

[Thanks for commenting Brabo. I already had to delete 6 abusive comments on this post of mine: seems like some people would go to great lengths to negate or stop the truth from being published, even on a personal blog. Thanks for reading, Antwerp city hall: we all know the upcoming referendum will be ignored in Brussels, and this killer overpass will be build, turning Antwerp in an ever more toxic, noisy & poisoned city. 2. In Dutch, from the newspapers:

  3. One thing that will happen whatever the outcome: Sint Annabos is going to be cut down (at least half of it…) to support tunneling under the river… and at my neck of the woods that is going to be hell. Left Bank is never going to be the same again… But I’d rather have the few years of hell and no useless bridge than noise- and other pollution day in day out in other parts of the city.

[Blog author: "Thanks for being so empathic towards us downtown victims of a potential overpass-bridge Sven. I'm a frequent wanderer through Sint Anna Forrest - the fact that this natural buffer between left-bank and the petrochemical cluster will be destroyed is so disconcerting...

I recently talked to a MP in Brussels who claimed no matter how overwhelming the "NO" vote in Antwerp, this insane viaduct will be built.... We're all upset, angry and so frightened our lives will change forever."]
