  1. You Twitter?

    Which post was succesful?

[Blog author: "I passively use(d) Twitter Benjamin - much of it is obviously inane drivel ("just had dinner") unless you follow the major players. My well-researched post on the moisture issues with the iPhone was high on Google and is currently referred to by a US tech publication: my hit-rate is stunning today. But the "Lange Wapper" post also pulled a major crowd, although Belgian locals hardly ever comment on posts in English when it concerns local issues. Antwerpenaren hebben alleen een grote mond op café ;-) "]

  2. Hey Peter,
yea, all of us facebook whores who have pretty much abandoned our blogs and with them our blog friends unless they also are on facebook. I finally did a post on my blog tonight and thought I would check in on my friends blogs and so for me, that is why I checked in!

[Blog author: "Thank you for passing by Brenda! I often check your updates on Facebook, but the 7h time-difference makes it hard to chat. Coming soon to FB: voice-chat. "]

  3. lange wapper!

[Blog author: "I know in 'urban' English "Wapper" refers to "A white male in a crappy car blasting loud rap in a rich neighborhood who thinks that he is black" Gary, but in Dutch it's the name of a very noisy and polluting traffic overpass under design, intended to be suspended over Antwerp city, polluting the air in this town beyond belief. The huge "Lange Wapper" bridge has been pushed by Belgian VLD politicians (an economically right-wing party appealing to the wealthier part of society), with blatant disregard for our common health. Details in my post below. "]

  4. aye, the monstrosity to be is topic of many heated discussions… as it should be! Let’s hope the Antwerpenaar won’t just be a loudmouth in their local watering hole but also in the polling booth (I know I will :) )

[Blog author: "Same here Sven. Although my neighbours still believe it's a "bridge across the river". Amazing how VLD's Noel Slangen and BAM have lied to the population for a decade, and got paid millions for doing so. I'm quite disgusted. "]

  5. I found out today that the referendum needs 10% of the total of Antwerp citizens (not just those eligable to vote – SIC – ) for it to be legal… so, if you live in antwerp and able to vote (pro or contra, doesn’t matter to me): cast it… this is a first for Antwerp, and might be the benchmark for other petitions to call for a public referendum! This one is too important to pass up!

[Blog author: "Thanks for the information Sven - let's just hope the Antwerp citizens will realize they"ll be voting for their health and the future of their children. "]
