Much like these tempting women (actually, they’re male) below, shot last weekend in front of the Antwerp riverbank “steen” castle (thanks guys, your free posing provided me with a much appreciated and popular online photo session), don’t we all need our summer break?
Well, I sure do. So while I’m off to work on my tan and muscles in a cheap cabin along the rainy Belgian coast on a secluded island resort in the South China Sea, rest assured that I will keep you posted 24/7 via WiFi whenever any worthwhile news breaks in sleepy Antwerp this summer. But please, do err on the side of caution and skip checking CNN first – I’m convinced you know who to trust when reliable coverage of Antwerp, Belgium is vital
Enjoy the summer of 2009, wherever you may be.
[Update July 11th: returned from the beaches in Zeeland, Holland, only a 1h drive from Antwerp, yet so different. Hottest day of the year (33°C/92°F) July 2nd, but we're back enjoying the chilly Belgian rain. Tempted to fly off to the Med. Happy birthday Belgium!]l

You know what’s really sad: he has better legs than some women I know…

You picked the right moment to come back: it has been raining for days…
[Blog author: "I should have stayed in Holland, where it's just as cold and rainy as in Belgium today Brabo
But like I told you when we had that drink last night, I'd love to fly off to the Mediterranean. I know, July/August are expensive and crowded, but I couldn't care less about the price - I just don't fancy another summer under a soaking wet umbrella at 65°F/17°C. Next: finding a suitable travel partner, since my SO is not in a travelling mood. To all (well, not really every one of you): feel free to get in touch, but obviously preferably if you're cute, funny and headed for the Med. "]

Yep, great photo. What is your camera of choice? Sorry if that’s a repeat question.

PS We lived in Antwerp two different times for a total of about two years. (Brasschaat & then city center–Plantinkaai 1. Great, great city, great people.
[Blog author: "I tend to use a Canon compact Lee, since my DSRL is way too bulky on a regular stroll through town. I'm glad you liked Antwerp (we were actually almost neighbours when you lived near the riverbanks) although I only wish I could afford a place in the green Antwerp suburbia like Brasschaat. Thanks for commenting from Ohio. "]
