No, Antwerp sure doesn’t resemble Miami, but on the odd warm sunny day one only needs a touch of imagination to get that true holiday feeling. [My cell-phone shot: an Azamara cruise liner, passing Antwerp left bank beach last Monday on its way back to the Atlantic].

An Azamara cruise liner passes Antwerp left bank beach - Monday June 1st 2009
Watching the Azamara peacefully slide by faced me with the simple fact that summer was back in town, a time of year I usually book solid with BBQs, countless visits to/from friends&family along with the traditional summer break near the Mediterranean. But somehow this year feels different: the “must do” part has at times resulted in a “I need a break from my vacation” feeling, caused by too many activities, too much planning, too much “must do” notes in my summer planner. So without regret I tossed my planner in a drawer, making sure that the summer of 2009 will be be a virgin white page, a page I daily fill as I go along. Have a great summer, wherever you are.

They are monstrous constructions, aren’t they? Fourteen storeys high, they really dwarf everything around them.

I’m hearing the strains of Miami Sound Machine and Gloria Estefan running through my head…Oh, and I’m with Van, and the legs don’t suck either…

Streamlined… that’s the first thing that comes to mind:
* the ship isn’t
* the white shorts’ content and legs are

Yea, After my mishap today (see blog post) I really need to get my ass out of town!
[Blog author: "Trust me, it can happen to everyone Peace. There was another cruise-liner (the MS Europa) passing by last Sunday (including fireworks), but I already covered that vessel last year and the rainy weather failed to induce a summer feeling."]

The best way to live is the one without plans.
[Blog author: "I couldn't agree more Manic: planning can actually be a stress inducing factor. "]
