Benjamin, over at towntalk.wordpress.com [in Dutch] posted that the upcoming Navigaytion dance event (June 28, private ) will feature a special appearance by www.thefirstgay.be, a British actor seen in this Flemish government-sponsored YouTube Gay safe-sex video.
Update June 21:posted version with Dutch subtitles. Benjamin informed me the actor is Bruce Montague
Although I applaud this (produced by TWBA advertising) entertaining safe-sex message from sensoa, I decided that I (and my partner, and many of our friends) will avoid this over-commercialised ‘Navigaytion’ private dance party by choice, and maybe you should too

Love, love, love the robe. Is he the gay equivalent of Hugh Hefner, Peter?
[blog author: "Absolutely Claudia. He carries a striking physical resemblance, being an actor in numerous "gay-condom-safe-sex" ads uploaded by http://www.sensoa.be
He's British, also appeared in many commercials but he's one hell of an actor. Isn't it superb how he exclaimed : "and then, at the same time, I invented homosexuality". He has that "hey, I'm much older and survived you all" attitude by a 'loving life and using condoms' habit that many-20-somethings have forgotten completely."]

The only thing better than sex is safe sex … sure takes away from the afterglow when you are worried about disease you might have contracted.
I thought this was very good and amusing (sure more fun that Al Gore inventing the Internet!! LOL). What do you think, Peter? Will this be an effective campaign?
[blog author: "Absolutely Shirley. Well, I must stress that HIV contaminations in the "let's party like there is no tomorrow" crowd are unfortunately on the increase Shirley. In major cities like Amsterdam or Brussels, some quote one-in-every-30 as a shocking figure. http://www.sensoa.be (also in English) and the Flemish (Dutch/Belgian) government ( http://www.visitflanders.com ) are trying to contain the damage, but I've seen people I trusted behave like absolute imbeciles, ruining their life and the future of others (Hi Eric, I know you don't read blogs in English since you only speak French - but somehow I hope you can live with the damage you're causing).
Unfortunately, while this campaign is superb, it won't change a thing. I'm in a monogamous relationship, I have seen a lot of hidden suffering and even more "all smiles" packaging, but no, it won't work.
People will look at this great and very amusing campaign by Brussels advertising agency TBWA, smile, but won't change their behavior.
Anyway, you can at least say the Dutch speaking Belgians are very upfront about safe sex.
Imagine CNN broadcasting this ad, with the "Anal sex? Most of my friends come through the back door" quote
. There would be a revolution from the conservative/religious right. John Mc Cain would have it banned before anyone could blink their eyelids

Hooray for safe sex! What a great ad
[blog author: "Thanks Granola-grrrl! Quite upfront, funny and open, like the Dutch tend to be
You know, some Europeans actually believe the US is inhabited by 300 million George W Bush clones, busy destroying the US economy while listening to extremely frightening "Homeland security level Orange" FOX junk. Really, it goes both ways: most American can't even find Brussels or Antwerp on a map, but some Belgians would never pass US History and culture, part 101
I'm not bragging, but small countries do have an outward looking attitude (we're too small to be inward looking).
This ad is special indeed. Would any of the major networks air it in Texas? (excluding Logo TV from Viacom: http://www.logoonline.com ) "]

[...] Notice the cardboard cut-out of the actor: http://www.brucemontague.co.uk starred in a hilarious safe-sex commercial produced by Brussels ad agency http://www.tbwa.be, commissioned by http://www.sensoa.be and unexpectedly aired on [...]
