First ‘fake snow’ ever in Antwerp, Belgium at -4°C/25°F. Shot taken with a cellphone while driving a car. Mine ![]()
Not a pretty, enchanted picture, but a sticky mess resulting from frozen fog fallout. Really: no snow on any radar…
Right: aerial view of Antwerp city at the tourist office gift shop: 30 miles of harbor, up to the Dutch border.
Antwerp harbor is a Sevezo zone, but this snow was only smog-related, not the “killer snow” we all dread.
Today’s precipitation in Antwerp was pure filth. I wonder if your area is still enjoying real “pure virgin snow”

We just have fog and hoarfrost in my corner of Belgium.

Glad to hear some parts of Belgium are still safe when it snows Veronica
But seriously, when VTM-TV just announced there was no snow predicted or visible on any radar, they did point out we were getting a coating of filthy, frozen fog fallout. Di is closer to vapor exhaust from the nuclear power plants (N of Antwerp), she posted a full blown snow (well, frozen fog fallout) photo.
It all looks so pretty, but it’s basically filth. Tonight the “FOG” warning signs are lit on all major highways surrounding Antwerp.

We had our English Christmas dinner last night as we are off to sunnier climes for the holidays - and the “snow” made the evening perfect for us. Shame to now read that it wasn’t really snow at all!

Caroline, virtually this whole country was ’slightly upset’ noticing the ‘virgin snow’ turned out to be filthy, frozen fog fallout. But we can always play make belief and imagine it’s ‘Christmas snow’
