The Bush administration did a pretty good job controlling mainstream US news sources – will your voice be the next to drown in their flood of lies?
And if your voice is still being heard, will someone really care?
Whereas George W. Bush has admitted to ordering the US National Security Agency to conduct electronic surveillance of American civilians without seeking warrants, I and millions of other non-US bloggers are spied upon by the US Echelon network.
If Clinton almost got impeached for an insignificant affaire with an intern, isn’t it time to impeach Bush? And you know, it’s even easier than you thought it was.
In the meantime, let’s focus on the latest Paris Hilton gossip story, while thousands of US troops are dying in Irak. Timeline: “Lie by Lie: Chronicle of a War Foretold”

We’ve got problems in the US. Conservatives and liberals dominating our political dialogue is one of the worst.

The world can’t work the way it did in the 90’s. I don’t know if you recall, but the last time our laws were like that, the American World Trade Center was destroyed by suicide bombers.
[Comment from the author: "Thank you for leaving a comment. Now I finally know who kept on reading my blog from the US state Department in Washington: IP 169.252.4.21 - server "clayton.state.gov"
Anyway, the whole world knows what happened op 9/11. Unfortunately, you did not post any arguments."]

There was nothing to argue against. You posted an image claiming that the government I work for is controlling the media, with no sources to back up that claim. [Comment from the author: "You may want to review these url's: http://www.corporations.org/media/ - http://www.outfoxed.org/ - or just use google: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGGL,GGGL:2006-14,GGGL:en&q=bush+administration+controlling+media. Or just take a look at Michel Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11. "]
Besides, I am not permitted to debate politics from this machine. Hence my posting a comment that merely defends the U.S. government, instead of stating why a certain political system is better.
[Comment from the author: "Most Europeans are actually able to understand the difference between "America", 'American Citizens' and your employer, "the Bush administration", a temporary entity that eroded the constitutional rights of 300 million of your fellow Americans, lied to the nation and the world, caused untold suffering abroad and basically, raped American values using induced fear and lies. I've got lots of American friends, the ones living in Belgium are shocked watching the actions of the Bush administration. In Europe, most people are not limited by a very narrow world view, presented by Corporate America, those nice people that made sure your employer got re-elected.]

Ah, here I am at home, now legally able to debunk your bullcrap.
[Comment from the author: "Great. An employee working for the US department of State starts using 'polite words'. Condi Rice has a cuter smile, ànd knows how to handle an opposing viewpoint - even if she's also a right-wing hawk.]
I admit, I haven’t seen Fahrenheit 9/11. I tried once, but I couldn’t get past that line where Moore sounds like a flaming homosexual
[Comment from the author:"I forgot the Bush admin has problems with the 50 million Americans that are not heterosexual. In a way, the Bush admin seems to have problems with most American citizens, as they initiated the largest US domestic civil spying program ever. Anyway, if you're worth the money they pay you, you should have used FF and finished watching the movie. But considering that I'm a gay author, you're barking up the wrong tree, my 'dear'. You sound like one of those Southern rednecks Europeans really can't stand anymore. The popularity of the Bush admin is currently way below freezing in Europe, while many American polls show that most Americans no longer agree with their lying 'administration'. Bush's US approval rating was as low as 31% in May 2006. It rose recently, due to "lower gas prices"... Fortunately, FOX&Co will make sure the ratings go back up."

'A host of recent developments have made it clear that the Bush White House is doing battle against the journalistic standards and practices that underpin of our democracy. With its unprecedented campaign to undermine and stifle independent journalism, Bush & Co. have demonstrated brazen contempt for the Constitution and considerable fear of an informed public. In short, America’s leadership is waging a war against the journalistic standards and practices that underpin not only a free press but our democracy. The Fourth Estate is withering under an unprecedented White House assault designed to intimidate, smear and discredit investigative journalism — and allow the president and his political cronies to lie with impunity."
- http://www.normansolomon.com/: quote: "When Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, invited President Bush to engage in a "direct television debate" a few days ago, the White House predictably responded by calling the offer "a diversion." But even though this debate will never happen, it's worth contemplating. Both presidents are propaganda junkies -- or, more precisely, propaganda pushers -- so any such debate would overdose the audience with self-righteous arrogance. The two presidents are too much alike. Each man, in his own way, is a fundamentalist: so sure of his own moral superiority that he's willing to push his country into a military confrontation. This assessment may be a bit unfair to Ahmadinejad, who hasn't yet lied his nation into war; the American president is far more experienced in that department."

Feel free to comment again, there are countless, fact-based reputabele sources proving how the Bush administration and the major networks make sure the average US citizen stays ignorant and willing to accept all the lies.]
Your sources are not reputable at all. The Internet is a freeform area where anybody with access to it can put whatever crap they want inside it. Your sources have not established themselves as reputable.
[Comment from the author: "And you consider, after all the lies and deceipt from the Bush admin, your employer or yourself to be a "reputable source"?
) Go to Google, type 'Bush lying': 16 million hits." I'm sorry having to cut up your comments, but they were just too insulting and way off-topic.]

Peter — why are you chastising the Shadow? He’s patronizing your blog, contributing to the discussion. Would you prefer all your visitors agree with you? That wouldn’t be very interesting.
[Comment from the author: "Well, at first I was surprised to watch someone working for the US State Department contributing to the discussion. Obviously, when people disagree I click 'approved' and just add my own views. But when people start calling verified issues "crap" (Corporate America controls the US major TV networks, that's a fact) there's no longer a viable discussion possible. Unfortunately..."]

am having the same visitor thes eslast days and seems he’s spending much time watching over my blog !
Snawsi from Tunisia.
PS: I had spent some 4 months in the USA end of 2004 and seems they’re still ” watching over me” 3 years later. Well, that doesn’t bother me at all.
“clayton.sta.gov “, You’re welcome honey,any time
Comment by snawsi — April 6, 2007 @ 2:16 pm |
@Snawsi: well, you write in Arabic, which obviously is a “dangerous language, to be monitored”
Anyway, I’m just a regular Belgian who posted some vacation/diving pictures from a vacation in Egypt during 2006: “clayton.state.gov” was all over this blog. Guess these guys are extremely paranoid, the ‘professional variety”.
Comment by Peter - blog author — April 6, 2007 @ 3:33 pm |
I’ve noticed this clayton.state.gov visiting my blog as well. I just hope I’m not doing anything wrong. And I also hope he is a Duck fan. That would be so awesome [lol].

Well, as long as clayton.state.gov keeps on showing up in your logs, someone working for the US government is wasting US taxpayer’s money. If your blog is on one of the countless US security watch lists and you are being monitored, you sure wouldn’t notice it.
